We’re delighted to welcome the College of Progressive Education to Which Course Expo 2015.
Welcome to the College of Progressive Education. Since 1986 the College has been dedicated to providing meaningful and recognised qualifications in the fields of Childcare, Montessori, Healthcare and Special Needs. We deliver nationally accredited education and training programmes where qualifications and skills can be obtained in an enjoyable and supportive adult learning environment. All our tutors are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with their learners and will be delighted to assist you in completing the programme of your choice.
Since 2003 the College has been a recognised provider of internationally recognised QQI major award programmes. All of these awards are aligned on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications. We offer a range of learning options for many of our programmes-full-time, part-time and blended learning- designed to suit a range of learning styles.
Our dedicated team of academic advisors here at the College as well as your tutors will be delighted to support and advise you throughout your programme in obtaining the qualifications required for your chosen career.
Full-time Programmes in Child Care, SNA (Special Needs Assistants) training, Montessori Teaching, and Healthcare. These programmes take place over one academic year. Students attend class for the first three weeks of the course, then subsequent weeks alternate between work placement and the classroom until the end of the programme. Assessment takes place both on a continuous basis, as well as structured assessments at the end of relevant modules.
Part -time courses are typically evening or Saturday courses and are 18 months duration. Students attend class two evenings per week from 7pm – 9.30pm and a number of Saturdays, depending on the programme. Assessments take place on the Saturdays Seminars. Course materials are accessed through moodle, an online learning portal.

The blended learning programmes are delivered over a two year period. Students access their course materials through Moodle, an online learning portal.
